Oupie and Ouma - Visit

Two weeks ago we went on our monthly to visit Ouma and Oupie. The are seriously like the funkiest grand parents. we enjoy their company and are so blessed to have them in our lives.

Oupie is very intellectual and hard working so whenever we go there we always leave for home intellectually richer than we came. So Wayne and him enjoy those deep conversations about almost everything. Ouma on the other hand is a very hard working lady as well and a great gardener. lets just say ... oh well see for yourself the pictures below. So during our visits we spend our girlie time talking about amongst other things, how our piano lessons are going, gardening and tips on how to grow certain things. And she is such a good cook!! We always leave feeling like stuffed piglets. And they have the most awesome dogs too.

On this particular trip we went flower shopping. Wayne had this brilliant idea of a valentines day present for me. Instead of buying me one bouquet of flowers, he decided he was going to buy me rose plants -ice burg roses they flower all year round so instead of them dying after a few days I would have them for as long as they lived. And I loved my roses :) thanks hun.

While we were at this particular nursery we found they had a pond of ducks and a cute birdie called tequila apparently she enjoys dancing and if you sing she dances. I wanted to take her home.we had a great time and cant wait to visit them again.

Back to School

we decided that 2009 is the beginning of intellectual growth thus enrolled at unisa - long distance correspondence uni. Its very exciting Wayne is doing LLB law and im doing psychology. First of all the nightmare with registration "and bring this and that and ohh we haven't yet received this yet we have sent it through like ten times" kinda put me off but thank God for mom and Wayne; he isn't the quitter he fights and every one listens believe me he has his way with people and boy we got the registration and all the books done in like two weeks. All in all its great to be students again we looking forward to those days when we both have to study and prepare for exams and see the awesome results. .... so that means lots and lots and lots of studying. Which will all be worth it. And it will be GRADUATION TIME ...YAY !!!!! and yeah our advice to guys out there stay in school and if you have the chance to continue with studies please scoop it as if your life depended on it and those in school.... All the best :)

Our precious Dusty ♥

She was a beautiful 14 year old gal. Very friendly always run to you when you got home to say hello even if she didn't know you and great with children, gentle and very entertaining. She lived the life every one around the block wished for. Very well mannered when you gave her a treat she would always sit with poise and then proceed to enjoy it. With her motherly love she took in puppies and treated them like her very own licked and loved them.
Dusty was her name, she was our lil "fat" gal.

I didn't really understand the whole fuss about Friday 13th Feb which was yesterday but after experiencing what happened yesterday im kinda torn and leaning closer to the fuss that it was actually a doom day. As we lost our lil gal Dusty, she was put down because it was the best thing to do . Ridden with lots of pain and on constant medication to help her cope with life.we knew the t We feel so blessed to have had her in our family, as we know that she was living on "borrowed" time. i will explain what we mean by that. According to the doctor stuffies' life span is 10 years but she lived to almost 15 years, her body in mint condition besides all the complications that come with old age.

We will miss her dearly but we also know that Heavenly father wanted her more. Its really sore when we lose a family member, some people may say she was a pet/dog but to us she was family and will always be our lil fat gal.She always be in our hearts.
Here are some things that were just Dusty;
She always lay usually in bed or i believe when bored and licked her paws till someone would have to yell out "Dusty stop". It was such a weird sound like a shlurp . Here she is doing it.

Shower time she would get into the shower to have a bath/shower unlike the other dogs ie fudge and Boston that we had to literally fight with them.
She loved children.
She loved chasing the ball and never knew what to do wit it when she got it.
Her tails would always stick up straight like a ruler when she barked.
She preferred to sleep on our bed rather than hers.Evidence below :)

She had a sweet tooth. She preferred to take her medication with cake :)
she really got excited when people came around that we had to give her tranquilites to calm her down.
Here is a picture of our "scallum" Boston also passed on 28th Dec 2008. We miss him terribly. Boston was more of a daddy's boy he followed dad every where and was very cheeky and playful. He was one of the puppies that Dusty also looked after. He was found by mom and dad on their way to holiday in the Drakensburg a place called Boston hence his name.He was a miracle and such a sweetheart.

After this incident we have actually decided we are not going to have any new additions to the family for a loooong time as four of them have left us in less than two months. But we cant promise to hold our breathes on that.
We must say thank you to mom and dad because with out them we wouldn't have known of these precious angels or spent the time we had with them who have gone back to heavenly father because their big hearts, tireless efforts and time.We love you !!! And thank you Wendy for all you did as well.

My two cuties together . Love them to bits.

Something about this picture, that brings back good memories- will explain a little. Because Fudge's fur was all over the place it was a lot believe me a looooooot!! so the babies weren't allowed on the couch but when Wayne wasn't home i would put the blanket and viola Dusty would jump on the couch and when we heard him coming she would jump down. It was like our little secret until he got us one day.

She lived life to the fullest and we are so grateful for the time we had with her

Sun City !!

We spent most of Saturday at sun city it was a nice experience. when you compare pics of the slides and the scenery you guys will side with us that the scenery was more fascinating than the water slides.

This waterfall is so magical its gives that peaceful feeling on the inside and right behind it is a cave apparently where lovers secretly met. I don't know how i would make an appointment to meet in the dark where crabs are crawling on the wet floor but it was a nice experience.

Another picture of Wayne the background.......

More scenery

And finally these guys

Mount Amanzi Resort

Last weekend was great, we went away for the weekend to a place far out of the city to a resort called Mount Amanzi. Its one of those places that we recommend to anybody who wants to have a peaceful and quiet holiday. Beautiful scenery and lovely environment and its self catering. Which i was very grateful as Wayne is a brilliant cook and the best company. :) we were able to relax, chill and have fun the whole weekend. We also went to sun city for the day and it was fun I must say we felt kinda old as we were more excited about the scenery and hikes than the water slides and the valley of waves. It was fun to be a way from home but we also so happy to be home. so here are some pictures. Enjoy...

One of the swans in one of the many ponds at Mount Amanzi it was nice to sit by and chat and watch people fishing and the Egyptian geese.

Us by the river it was such a beautiful view.

Wayne by the river i must say he was not thrilled about the pics as he doesn't like taking them yet he is so photogenic.Me by the river the dam in the background was so lovely to watch.
