I took a few pictures of our babies a few weeks ago during one of my study breaks while I was on exam leave. Fudge was such a darling and Jiji on the other hand hmmm the pics will speak for themselves . Enjoy.

Soccer Friday

Its certainly here, the world cup. I think its over a month now and it was declared i have no idea by who that every Friday people wore their bafana bafana soccer jerseys to work in support of the country's team. And today my dear sweetheart wore his to work I just had to take a picture this morning at about 6am.Last night as the opening concert for the fifa world cup, we had ward council but I left before welfare so I got to watch some bit of it as I prepared dinner.
Wayne finally got home at about 10pm and we watched the final bit as we had dinner together. Alicia keys' performance was very impressive she is truly one talented artist, didn't feel shakira's vibe I thought she was lip synching but I hope I was wrong. All in all it was a good evening.
We having friends over to watch the opening game tonight and having brai. Wayne's birthday present another toy (projector) so he is excited to use the biggest wall in the house to set up a screen to watch the match I thinks going to be awesome. Its really great to see the unity in this country because of this event.Sports when allowed to evolve can be a great unifying tool and its frustrating when they throw political dirt all over it. Its opened my eyes to see and appreciate this country more. I know I'm not south African but in times like this I'm proud to be married to one and living here.

000 in Durban

Last week on Friday after my last exam, we flew to Durban to celebrate three birthdays , dad turning 60, wends -40 and Brad 30 so it was a triple party. It was really nice to see the family and friends and spend the evening chatting and catching up.
When we booked our tickets we were both excited for the trip but as the days drew nearer i became hesitant in fact I started questioning why i should go..because we have the most gorgeous babies and I felt so guilty leaving them behind. John our dear friend house sat for us and we knew they were in great hands but i was still worried. Anyways after pouring my heart -tears inclusive to Wayne as he drove home,as usual he lifted my spirits up and we were back in business. after a quick packing we were off to the airport on the midnight flight. we were met by Brad which was awesome. we spent the night at their house and left at 6am to mom and dad's place.
At 3pm guests started arriving. Wayne and I thought it was going to be a family you know intimate kind of party but to our surprise over 90 people turned up for the party. The air was filled with laughter amidst drinks and nice brai food. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures of the party. I think the last person left after 1am.
Happy birthday Dad, Wendy and Brad again. we wish you guys many more years to come.
We didn't do much on Sunday except for cleaning up and going to church . The comrades marathon was going on so church was at 2pm.

In the evening we went to visit Marc and Sharon and to meet Bella. Bella is a miniature goat and she is the cutest thing ever. we had a great time.
On the following day, we left to see my doctor for my annual check up - everything looks good and I passed with flying colors . After the appointment we met up with dad and went to the beach. Oh was it lovely to spend time with dad and Wayne and just stroll along the beach for four hours. We had lunch and came home all so exhausted Wayne had a swimming appointment with Wendy . So he left immediately and I had a nap.


And Tuesday we went shoe shopping, ran some errands which was fun-saw bella again and had a quick visit with our friends Raynor, Jared and Lauren. Mom took us out to dinner and after that we boarded back home and were thrilled to see our babies again.

World cup fever.

Oh yeah!!!! it's here as they are saying it but I don't know if I'm excited about it. its just one of those things I'm a football fan but I think this world cup thing is not getting to me. the strikes going on in the name of the world cup, road construction, I just want things to go back to normal. On the other hand in our house the excitement is going over the roof, Wayne got his tickets and is now so excited to be a part of this world event. In protest I'm not going to watch any matches. When Wayne was buying tickets he called me to tell me about it and tell me he had applied for a ticket to one of the games with me and I kindly declined the offer. Luckily they only approved the games he was going with the boys . so that means I don't get to go. Well for those getting ready to come here . Hope you have a great time and be responsible, cautious and look after yourselves. Otherwise have a good time. there is a lot of football mania if I may call it. and the country is quite colorful except for the person near my work place that blows their vuvuzela at 6.30 am what a freak.

Another visit !!

Last week on Friday I received a phone call off a strange number and at first I was hesitant to answer anyway I did and to my surprise my dear friend Bridget was on the other side. They were in town for only the weekend in transit to Uganda and we had to meet up. Wayne was studying for his exam on Monday so I went alone to meet them. We met at their hotel and went out to lunch with some friends of theirs. Jose and Sofia. It was great company with lots of laughter and good food. Shame little Don wasn't feeling well he slept through out lunch and woke up just before we left. After lunch we parted ways with Sofia and Jose and we went shopping more less shoe shopping and Don got a little bit worse and his mom suggested she decided to take him back to the hotel and I went with. We left Collin to continue shopping . When we got to the hotel room, Don got a little bit better and became so lively he was talking ,laughing and demonstrating his roar ... a cute lion. He is such an intelligent kid. Its amazing to see Bridget as a mother she is such a pro its like she was born a mother. They are such lovely parents to their little boy Don. It was fun seeing them and cant wait to see them again during the world cup.

That is what I wish was happening now. Oh boy if there is a time that we both dread its the exam time but we are thankful for the blessing of education and that we can have it and be able to better ourselves. oh being part of the young women at church. The strength of youth manual always comes to mind where we are counseled to seek continuous education. I know its a pain now but after graduation it will all be worth it. I especially feel sorry for Wayne because with his calling and work boy is he lucky to be able to have an evening to study and I know he will get through. He started his exams earlier than me and finishes two weeks earlier too. I on the other hand don't really have an excuse to fail, I cant get me to sit still and study. note to self: need to focus. And end of exams means we get to see our family in Durban. wooohhoooo cant wait for 28th may:) my last exam and we fly out that night after my exam for a weekend of the triple 000 party.

The awards dinner

We were invited for the annual Performance awards dinner by Wayne's work place. I must say I'm very proud of my hubby. This dinner is only for the A performers at work and since he has been working with the bank he has been invited . I was thrilled to accompany him to this special occasion. It was a black tie dinner hosted yesterday at the Hilton hotel. It was great to see him receive his certificate of performance and enjoy the company of his colleagues. There was lots of dancing and laughter, the food was great and Barry Hilton the comedian was the MC, I must say we were very impressed by his gig. It wasn't lewd, he was classy, elegant and very funny. We then left after 10pm as it was very cold and we had quite a distance to travel. Overall the night was brilliant.Well done hun, you such a great example.

Another blessing of a special year!

Its this time of year again. Its been years of great blessings and this year Im filled with gratitude for all the blessings I've had through out these years. Im grateful for a wonderful life, the best husband a girl would dream of, wonderful mothers, wonderful brothers and sisters, wonder babies;fudge and jiji and many more. that i haven't mentioned. i was very spoilt on this day. we went for dinner at a friend- kayla's house. Dinner was divine. sorry forgot to go with camera. and Wayne he is such a thoughtful darling-bless him, got me a sewing machine for my birthday. I don't know how to use it but its something I have wanted for a while now and I was very happy and excited when he took me shopping. I couldn't open it for two weeks which wasn't bad . I can't wait to show off my new skill. I will definitely start putting it to use after exams. thanks everyone for my presents and the love.

Our very dear friend/sister Jen, is visiting from the uk again. Jen was my maid of honor on our wedding day. I met her through Wayne is one of Wayne's closest friends and we hit it off from the first time we met. After our wedding she left for the uk and ever since she always visits during the month of April and is always here on my birthday and we always say she comes just to celebrate my birthday and the visit her family as a by-the-way . She called us up a quite a surprise, as this time she didn't let us know when she was arriving and set a meet up for one of the nights.
She had bought tickets for us and was taking us to watch stomp at monte casino. We met up early so we could spend some time with her before the show begun. It was great to catch up with her and her brother. It was such a lovely theatrical performance we enjoyed every bit of it and spending time with her as well. unfortunately we were only able to see her for one night but looking forward to her final return. We miss her dearly.
